Hummingbirds ( August 14, 2012 )

A hummingbird is on the swing!

I just stopped by the garden and sat the bench for about 10 minutes. I could see 4 hummingbirds are chirping and flying around. Today was the first day of school. I hope students enjoy to see hummingbirds.

Hummingbird feeders

We placed the hummingbird feeders today. We hope the hummingbirds can find our feeders and come back to our garden. We placed a hummingbird swing, too!

A hummingbird swing!

Also, we weeded a little.

Drought

Some plants became brown because of the drought this summer, but they are native plants, so they can survive this weather.

Prarie dock didn't get as tall as usual this year. We don't have to tie them up.

Cup plant doesn't hold water in their leaves anymore. The bottom part of leaves are gone.

We don't know what happened to this aster. Their leaves turned brown. We hope the root system is still ok.
